![]() ![]() You can either let them fill out the information, or you can collect it and fill it out for them. Make a page that links to all of the character sheets, and you can easily print them out before a game. ![]() Each player gets a fresh character sheet for each game, there is no need to redo character sheets, and you never have to worry about not having a player's sheet. This does create more work for the DM or the group's appointed "Keeper of the Sheets." However, the payoff is worth it. You can make custom character sheets for each campaign, which is especially useful when you run multiple campaigns of the same game system. Some campaigns you don't want players to be able to see each others' sheets when I do this, I create the character sheet pages with random numbers for names and then make a DM Only web page that links to them. This way, no player can see another player's sheet, but I have no trouble trying to remember what I named it, because it is just a link to me. I have found keeping control of the character sheet drastically cuts down on "math errors" that result in too high (or low) Armor Class, attack rolls and other stats. It also allows you to keep all the sheets uniform so everything is in the same location for everyone, noted the same way, and all the other benefits of standardization. You can also use space on the sheet to create areas for Power-Ups and other effects in other words, you can have a place on the sheet that shows the effects of the player's favorite spells and items in use. This saves a tremendous amount of time in game.īelow are some examples of character sheets (blank) that we use. These sheets use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), so if you want to use these files, you will need to save the HTML document and the CSS file to your computer. You can find out the location of the corresponding CSS file for each HTML document by looking at the page source and examining the HEAD statements. Neither CSS nor HTML are very difficult to learn. I recommend using W3C.org as a reference.Well, I took a look at that sheet, and there's some good stuff in there, and some bad stuff IMHO. The MAIN problem I have with it, is the file size of 32 meg. That and there's a TON of errors in the sheet that causes it to take forever to save/load. So I think I'll continue on my own sheet, adding things as I get to them and trying to keep both the size and the save/load time down to a minimum. So, without further ado, Version 1.72 is up! I've added Advanced Lifestyles, Runner's Companion Qualities, A display for Submersion on the Rigger/Hacker Sheet (only works for Technomancers), the ability to choose Sprites and assign Ratings and Tasks owed/left. Sprites print out on the Hacker/Rigger sheet with a list of their base stats based on rating (i.e. It also lists their starting CF's and powers. Lifestyle now prints on page 2 if you use Advanced Lifestyle. ![]() I found a few bugs/errors in the sheet and have corrected them. ![]() This has VASTLY increased the save/load speed of the sheet. Before, when you saved, it could take up to 5 min to respond again, Now it's a matter of seconds. It no longer locks up under Microsoft office when saving. You can pick Binary version (faster, smaller) or Macro Enabled XLS version (slightly slower, larger, Open Office compatible in theory). I have recently tried using the character generator. Some things that I thought of that I found to be incredibly fiddly are the cyberware and bioware sections. Not enough space for things and scrolling through lists looking for one item in a drop down list is annoying. Also what is more annoying when something cannot be found so I end up scrolling through it 3-4 times. I would prefer seeing it as a seperate sheet, with check boxes next to each option. Since I can't add tables I would see it like:Ĭybereye type Once checked it adds it to the final to be printed sheet. I've been considering changing the layout of the cyber/bio to do something similar to that.īasically it'd be exactly where it is, but instead of just a Cyber and a Bio column it'd be Headware, Bodyware, ect. Then under Bio it'd be Tailored, regular, Genetech, ect. It's not that BIG of a change (only take about an hour of reorganizing and then another hour of Store/Recall Function changes). Though I'm trying to avoid having 40 different sheets for chargen and advancement. ![]()
